Services

The London Scar Clinic is one of the country’s only scar treatment centres, specialising in a comprehensive and holistic approach to the effective assessment, management, and treatment of scars.

 

Definitions

Treatment refers to Laser, TCA, Injectables, Medical Tattooing and Physiotherapy. Note this list is not exhaustive, if you are unsure, please contact [email protected].

Procedure refers to any surgical recommendations, such as Scar Revision, Subcision or Fat transfer. Note this list is not exhaustive, if you are unsure, please contact [email protected].

 

Payment Policy

A deposit of £500 is payable to book your treatment or procedure.

The balance payable for your treatment or procedure must be received at least 30 days before your appointment date. Where an appointment date is confirmed within the 30-day period, payment is due in full at the point of booking.

 

Lateness Policy

The London Scar Clinic reserves the right to cancel any appointment should the patient not adhere to the lateness policy outlined below.

 

Consultations

To maintain the efficiency and quality of care for all patients, we request that all patients arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled consultation to complete any necessary paperwork.

 

Surgical Procedures

Please note that if you are scheduled in for a surgical procedure it is imperative that you arrive 30 minutes before the appointment time. Failure to do so will result in the procedure being cancelled.

 

Laser / TCA / Injectables / Medical Tattooing / Physiotherapy*

Patients arriving more than 10 minutes late for their treatment may need to reschedule their treatment, this will incur the applicable cancellation or rearrangement fees as outlined below.

If you anticipate being late, please contact our office as soon as possible, and we will do our best to adjust your appointment or reschedule if applicable. We understand that emergencies can occur, so please inform us if you are running late due to an emergency, and we will try our best to accommodate you.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your treatment, you must inform us in writing by emailing [email protected]. You are welcome to call us to cancel your appointment but must also submit a formal written request.

Rearrangement Policy

If you need to cancel your treatment, you must inform us in writing by emailing [email protected].You are welcome call appointment but also submit a formal written request. Should your treatment or procedure need to be delayed due to unforeseen medical reasons, we will rebook a new date for you at no charge provided you share medical evidence at the time of cancellation.

Cancellation by The London Scar Clinic

The London Scar Clinic reserves the right to cancel any appointment if the balance has not been settled in full 30 days before the day of your appointment.

It is the Patient’s responsibility to rearrange the appointment. Where a Patient fails to rearrange, any fees paid will not be refundable. If a Patient postpones and then later cancels, then the Cancellation Charges will apply.

 

Complaints Policy

The London Scar Clinic prides itself on upholding the highest standards of patient care. If you feel that we have not lived up to your expectations, or wish to provide any feedback, both positive and negative, please contact the Head of Operations.

All complaints will be acknowledged within two working days.

The Head of Operations will conduct a thorough investigation, gathering relevant information, conducting interviews, and reviewing records as necessary.

Each stage of the complaint-handling process will be thoroughly documented.

Following a comprehensive investigation, The London Scar Clinic will develop a resolution plan based on the findings and promptly inform the complainant of the investigation’s outcome, including any actions taken and changes implemented, through a formal written response.

We aim to conclude the investigation within 20 working days, aligning with CQC regulatory guidelines. However, if more time is needed due to the complexity of the issue, the complainant will be kept informed of the progress.

Stage Two:

Should the complainant remain dissatisfied, they are entitled to appeal the decision made and request a review by senior management.

Stage Three:

Should the complainant remain dissatisfied following stage one and two of the complaints process, we will offer guidance on external avenues for further escalation, including contact information for the Independent Sector Complaints Adjudication Service (ISCAS) or the Care Quality Commission (CQC) should we fail to reach the desired outcome of the complainant.

Providing safe, effective, high-quality treatment and care e.g. using your legal name, date of birth, contact details (including next of kin).

Making reasonable adjustments in the clinic for disabled persons or persons with specific medical requirements.

Sharing your personal data with other health professionals involved in your treatment e.g. anaesthetists, laboratories for sample testing, radiographers for medical reporting of images, your primary consultant/doctor/allied professional for the purposes of keeping your medical record up to date.

Sharing your personal data with pharmacies where prescriptions are required for the delivery of certain drugs for you.

Where necessary, sharing your personal data with insurance companies or an external billing company for the purpose of debt collection.

Taking payment from you using external credit and debit card provider Worldpay Card Services.

While we cannot guarantee absolute email security, The London Scar Clinic actively minimises associated risks by utilising Meddbase, a secure encryption medical management software. This ensures that all external emails containing personal information are encrypted, fortifying the protection of sensitive data beyond our organisational boundaries.

By consenting to attend an appointment with The London Scar Clinic, and providing relevant information, you agree to our communication via secure email. This includes the transmission of sensitive data such as appointment confirmations, medical reports, and invoices. Patient Responsibilities

As valued partners in your healthcare journey, we kindly request patients to fulfil certain responsibilities. These include providing accurate and comprehensive medical histories to facilitate precise and personalised care and following prescribed treatment plans and medication to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Moreover, adherence to our payment procedures, cancellation policies, and code of conduct ensures a smooth and respectful collaboration.
